Lewes District Green party is represented on the Town Council with four town Councillors, Susan Murray and Roger Murray (Castle Ward) and Ashley Price and Richard Rudkin (Priory Ward).
In the May 2011 Local Elections the Lewes District Green Party increased their seats on Lewes Town Council.
The priority for the Green Party is to reform Town Council (which includes greater public communication, accessibility and interest in Town Council matters, and will also aim to meet its pre election community pledges.
The Greens were 23 votes away from securing its first Lewes District Council seat in Lewes Bridge Ward and 44 votes away in Castle (May 2011 Local Elections), proving that Lewes Green Party is THE opposition to the Liberal Democrats.
